Protein quantification is the process of determining the amount or concentration of protein contained in a sample and is a basic process for conducting experiments.

In order to measure the amount of protein, an appropriate method must be selected and implemented based on the nature of other components contained in the sample as well as the protein, the speed and precision of quantitative analysis, etc.

Samples extracted from cells or tissues contain various proteins, and in order to compare and confirm the amount of a specific protein that you want to experiment with, the total amount of protein between samples must be adjusted. At this time, the total amount can be adjusted through the protein quantification process. There are various methods for quantifying proteins, and this is because the quantification method is different depending on the type and characteristics of the protein.

Understand the advantages and disadvantages of each quantification method and select an appropriate method to apply to the experiment.

There are two main methods for quantifying proteins: Colorimetric and Electrophoresis, and quantification is mostly done using the Colorimetric method.
